Elizabeth J. Harris — known to most as Liz — is the founder of Cynthy's Kids, Inc. and the author of Following God's Breadcrumbs: Out of Darkness and Into Purpose. She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) and has spent her career at the intersection of education, community, and service.
Cynthy's Kids was born from a deeply personal place — a daughter's determination to honor her mother's life by building something that outlives them both. Liz founded this organization because she believes that access to knowledge, mentorship, and financial literacy should not be a privilege. It should be a birthright.

Meet the Founder
Cynthy's Kids, Inc. is named in honor of Cynthia Elaine Davenport — a woman of extraordinary faith, resilience, and grace. She was a mother who poured everything she had into the people she raised and the people she loved.
When Cynthia passed in May 2024, her daughter Elizabeth made a promise — that her mother's life would not just be remembered, but multiplied. Every scholarship awarded, every family empowered, every door opened through this organization is a continuation of Cynthia's legacy.
The Story Behind the Name
What We Stand For
Equity — We believe access to education should not be determined by income, race, or background, and we actively work to dismantle barriers that limit opportunity.
Access — We prioritize removing financial and systemic obstacles that prevent students from pursuing and completing higher education.
Dignity — We honor the lived experiences, strengths, and aspirations of the students and families we serve, recognizing them as whole people — not just recipients of aid.
Community — We invest in students as part of a broader commitment to strengthening families and communities through education.
Accountability — We steward resources responsibly, operate transparently, and measure our impact to ensure meaningful and ethical use of funds.
